The True Story Behind Joe’s Place

Joe’s Place was inspired one warm summer evening in 1994 when, while drinking some nicely blended margaritas, Joe revealed his secret desire to own a greasy spoon eatery with a long counter, a surly fry cook, and a sharp-tongued waitress. Coming from a family with a restaurant background (Joe’s parents, Ted & Esper, owned Lolo’s Mexican Food in Paso Robles) the secret desire soon became a real possibility. With the support of his family and friends, the ball was rolling!

Established in 1995, Joe’s Place in Paso Robles quickly became a local legend, known for its great food, its raucous good cheer, and its delightfully sassy servers.

Moving to Templeton in 2006, Joe has continued the traditions of his love for his country and family, his deep respect for those who serve in the armed forces, and his support for our local high school teams. Joe’s Place reopened in Paso Robles, CA on a happy day in 2010, after the retirement of Joe’s parents, Esper and Ted. Joe’s Place continues to honor the Lolo’s Restaurant tradition by serving their Chile Verde and fresh salsa. Joe’s Place in Paso Robles and Joe’s Other Place in Templeton; serving only the freshest food, always cooked to order. So make yourself at home in Joe’s Place.
